Every 5-years we celebrate the School’s founding and our remarkable contribution to education and to national life.
Year-long celebrations under an anniversary theme begin with a Commemoration Service on September 21, the first day classes were held in 1925. Throughout the Christmas and Easter terms diverse celebratory activities are held at School which culminate in Homecoming Week – held in April of the following year.
The 90th Anniversary Celebration of the School’s founding commenced in 2015 under the patronage of our esteemed alumna, Professor Emerita the Honourable Elsa Leo-Rhynie, OJ, CD. There were many memorable events – the launching of the school flag and reprised school song, the naming of all the buildings for principals and vice principals, and of course Homecoming Week in April 2016 — a national celebration of the School’s achievements highlighted by an exciting series of public events.
