From 2009-2012 St Andrew High School selected a new focus – ‘Understanding and Responding Positively to the Needs of the 21st Centry Learner’. Read how Principal Sharon Reid introduced BYOD – Bring Your Own Device (to School) and set both teachers and students on the technology track for the 21st century.
The entire campus is now WiFi enabled, all students, teachers and staff have an email address @sahs.edu.jm, LCD projectors and mimeoboards were introduced into every other classroom in the Main Block and teachers, and SAHS is now running on a content management system with a database of every student for imporved timetabling, attendance recordation, electronic reports and other modern features.
The students paid tribute to BOYD’s success with the publication of the 2103/14 School Magazine. The entire magazine – coversand pages – were designed like a mobile phone screen and the acronym BYOD was featured on the front cover.
