Plans for the bi-annual PTA Walkathon on Saturday April 8 are moving into high gear with a great fundraising goal of $2.5 million for the renovated and expanded Staff Room. Scheduled for an early 6:30am start from the Norman Manley International Airport roundabout, this bi-annual 6K walk always has maximum participation from students, staff and parents…and this year promises to be no different.
Music and the ocean waves will spur the walkers on to the culmination at the Port Royal Primary School where cool drinks and a spray mist await to cool them down. Tanto Black and other artistes will perform keeping spirits high with maximum enjoyment for all.
Parents wishing to volunteer as chaperones should contact the PTA Office or call 908-3410 asap. The Walkathoners are expected back at SAHS by 2pm latest.
The much needed Staff Room project will expand the top floor of the current staff room over the cafeteria.
