A Live Stream on Friday, June 5 at 11am will bring the Launch of the 90th Anniversary Celebrations with the Inaugural Hoisting of the School Flag to the St Andrew Family worldwide. The stream will be accessible from www.sahs.edu.jm

The Launch event on June 5 is a rallying call to the St Andrew Family to join the year-long 90th Anniversay celebrations which will commence on Founders Day, September 21, 2015.  Minister of Education, Hon. the Reverend Ronald Thwaites heads specially invited guests, teachers and students who will be present for this impressive launch of the 90th anniversary.

The event commences with the hoisting of both the Jamaican flag and our new School Flag at 11am –  a formal ceremony developed in consultation with Col Jaimie Ogilvie of the Jamaica Defence Force and “old girl” Ambassador Elinor Felix (Phillips). Since its founding in 1925, SAHS has not had an official School Flag. The new flag was designed by Deputy Head Girl 2014/15, Kathryn Lawrence. The flag will be hoisted to the SAHS School Song (instrumental only) – the words of which are printed in the Student Manual, but now beautifully arranged by “old girl” Marjorie Whylie.

90th Anniversary Celebration Chair, Maxine Henry-Wilson will brief members of the press on the 90th Anniversary Programme of Events in the School Library, immediately following the flag hoisting ceremony. The press conference will also be carried on the live stream.
