The Class of 1998’s bold effort to launch the Schools first Crowdfunding Campaign to raise US$ 25,000 in 30 days for the 4th lab in the Old Science Block successfully raised over USD $30,000.
The Because Girls in Science Matter Crowdfunding Campaign was launched on Sunday June 1, 2014 ran for 30 days.
Congratulations go to the Class of 1998 located on the web and in Washington, DC for their tremondous groundbreaking effort. The project was headed by Renee Lauren-Ellis, Camille Bryan, Renee Logan, Tayo Otunla and Mikaela Levons. The project was run on razoo.com
“It was a great effort” commented Dr Deanna Ashley chair of the SAHS Foundation. “It was their idea, and they made it work.” The SAHS Foundation encourages classes to work together to support the school.
The friendships made at SAHS are enduring and when girls get together to give back to the school it is always a hearfelt and meaningul effort.
